The Blog Down Under

My name is Nick Chaplow, I'm 23, and currently in my last semester at Auburn University studying Building Science. Photography, traveling, outdoor adventure, and adrenaline sports are among my many passions, so Australia and New Zealand seem to fit the bill. When I had the opportunity to sign up for this study abroad adventure, there was absolutely no way I could turn it down. Shout out to my parents, family, and friends for supporting me throughout my life and academic career!

This journey begins on January 12th, 2017, and lasts 54 days until March 9th, 2017. Myself and 11 close-knit friends will be completing course work for our thesis semester, along with learning new cultures and construction methods. This trip will consist of coursework days, class field trips, and three personal trips with no studies involved. The major places to be visited in Australia will be Melbourne, Sydney, the island of Tasmania, Brisbane, and Cairns; and the major New Zealand cities will be Auckland and Queenstown.
