Today we toured the Exhibition and Convention Centre in downtown. The Exhibition building was built in the mid-90's, and the Convention building was built 8 years ago. The technology and sustainability implemented in the Convention building was phenomenal. 5,000 seat auditoriums with massive retractable partition walls, auditorium seating with movable flooring, stages, and passive design like the massive cantilevered awning hanging over roughly 100 feet . The building has 98% fresh air, which is unheard of for a building of this magnitude. We then ventured to the National Gallery of Victoria, an elaborate art gallery, free of charge for all entrants. The paintings and ancient artifacts were stunning, particularly the Impressionist art from Manet, Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Degas, Sargen, Cezanne, Sisley, and so so many more. I was in heaven.
