Fact: trying to get ones check after a meal in Australia a challenge in and of itself. We are 4/4 on having to wait 15 minutes or more after a meal for a check. I think Australians just take their time and are never in a rush. Must be a nice concept, we're learning slowly but surely. Today began with, you guessed it: thesis! Working until noon, we found yesterday's attempted Greek spot, Mezethes. We each ordered one chicken souvlaki and one lamb, and I've never had a better one in my life. Best bang for the buck yet. Our waiter was superbly nice, and gave us the insider tip on beaches for the day: Nutgrove Beach and Kingston Beach. found tiny shops and craft stores, selling anything from blacksmithed crafts to pottery and jewelry. These were fun, but we were headed for relaxation in the sun.
Nutgrove was close by and quaint. There were plenty of dogs and people, and it was not too crowded. The water this far South is quite chilly, much moreso than it was in Melbourne. Next was Kingston, and was it lovey. Beachside shops, bars, and restaurants lined the street, and volleyball tournaments were alive and well. There must have been 100 dogs on this beach, everywhere you looked there was a group of 3-5, and every 20th brought you a stick to play fetch. It was definitely what doggy heaven looks like. We relaxed and walked, then got in the road and headed to the airport here to wrap up this incredible side trip. It has been perfect, and nothing short of it. I will be visiting again, there is no doubt about that. Tonight at 7:30, Federer and Nadal play one another for the Australian Open championship, and it's bound to be epic.
