Today was a productive thesis grind until noon and somehow the temperature rose to 98 and humid. Walking 5-10 miles and being constantly sweaty is something we've learned to love. Ice showers are the only escape, and I never imagined I'd be saying that. Our first stop was the Sydney Museum, Which was awesome until we got to the kids room. Topography sand boxes, a massive sand box, AND an oasis of Lego bricks to create whatever your little heart desired. Needless to say, the rest of the museum wasn't seen... No shame in the Lego game, that part of my childhood will forever remain strong and constant.

We then walked to the Sydney Bridge to view the city and study the construction of the monumental icon. Photographs of men straddling beams as they were hoisted, riding the headache ball of the crane, and balancing across girders to work and walk was something that sounded exhilarating yet extremely horrifying. Sixteen workers died during its construction, and is testament to how far construction has evolved into a much safer work environment.
