We embarked for a hike at 7:45 for JC Slaughter Falls, a waterfall at Mount Coot-Tha. With the lack of rain for the past several months, the creek beds and waterfalls were dry, which was slightly disappointing. The route was well-paved and relatively flat, making it a cakewalk compared to our previous experiences. We viewed the city from the mountain, then bused into the city and returned for a nap. Class followed with Dr. Wilson, a retired exercise physiologist, and dean of kinesiology at Auburn University for 27 or so years. We had our leadership and entrepreneurship course until roughly 6:15, then went with a group to The German Club.

Signing up to become a member, we entered the dance hall and water hole establishment, delighted by the immediate step into German culture. The beer was only German, the food only German, and the people seemed, well, only German. I had veal schnitzel, and two very German beers. We enjoyed the company, then returned to our apartment for a last night out on the town. Pregame ensuing, we played flip cup and beer pong, and invited four American girls who were also studying abroad that some of our group had met while relaxing at he city beach. Two were from South Carolina and the other two from USC. We enjoyed the American company and they joined us on our night's adventure to Birdie, a club bar that is the city favorite on Thursday nights. We'll just say the night turned out to be just that: an adventure, and I got to know one of the girls from Atlanta. Like I've said this entire trip: it's crazy how small this world is, and how you never know who you're going to meet.
