My morning came with a great start: hangover, packing, cleaning, cooking, running. We made our way to the airport, and I happened across a Ripcurl outlet, where I bought the straw hat I swore I'd buy if I saw it again. I sat next to a couple from British Colombia, and our flight attendant, Brett, had just visited Mobile, Alabama. He spent two weeks there with his friends, and visited New Orleans and several other cities. This small world seems to be getting smaller with each passing day. We made our way to our hostel - a pretty awesome setup in the heart of the city, and familiarized ourselves with the city streets and shops. This city has the most peculiar atmosphere: it's touristy mixed with small-town and adventure. You stand out as a sore thumb, but so does every other passerby. You're sold whitewater rafting, bungee jumping, sky diving, atv-ing, moped-ing, and anything else you can think of. Looks like they'll have to really twist my arm to do all of it.... To top it off we're taking a helicopter out tomorrow to the Great Barrier Reef, where we will snorkel the most incredible thing on this Earth. I am trying to mentally prepare myself for how amazing it is going to be, but I don't think anything will help me with taking in one of God's most beautiful creations.
